I found this in York when I was traveling last year. it s been sitting under a pile of stuff, for quite some time....
Lord,
Thou knowest better that I know myself that I am growing older and will someday be old. Keep me from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every subject and on every occasion. Release me from craving to straiten out everybody’s affairs. Make me thoughtful but not moody: helpful but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom it seems a pity not to use it all but thou knowest Lord that I want a few friends at the end.
Keep my mind free form the recital of the endless details; give me wings to get to the point. Seal my lips on my aches and pains. They are increasing, and the love of rehearsing them is becoming sweeter as the years go by. I dare not ask for grace enough to enjoy the tales of others pains, but help to endure them with patience.
I Dare not ask for improved memory, but for a growing humility and a lessening cocksureness when my memory seems to clash with the memory of others . Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be mistaken.
Keep me reasonably sweet; I do not want to be a saint – some of them are so hard to live with- but a sour old person is one of the crowning works of the devil. Give me the ability to see good things in unexpected places, and talents to unexpected people. And give me, O lord the grace to tell them so.
Amen

New Windows
Everyone knows that leaky windows in Fairbanks makes for high heating bills. i have had this leaky window for a couple of years. when its windy even a little, well.... there is cold air
so i thought this summer that i could get some new windows got them ordered a moth ago , and they were delivered yesterday.
Now is the project to line up the time with some friends to get them installed, without needing to fix 1/2 the walls ( lack of insulation etc). you know a $100, and a case of beer. i ought to take some "OLD photos and then some new ones when we are all done.
Triple pain windows, Pain yes they are not cheep $2100 for 3 windows it a an investment in the house it s like putting money on principle.

New Computer chair
My old computer chair was driving me crazy it was old and broken , and I thought what is the use of having a second job if I dont spend some money on myself , just for the fun of it . I looked in Sam s the other day and thought I would like to actully sit in a chair before I buy it. so today i went to Office Max, and there was this chair that was plush swede and not leather , in gray and and way more comfortable than the ones that were $300 . so $160 of my tips has gone on a new chair.
Got it home and it s all assembled. so now I sit in my chair and spin, got to have a chair that spins. hell i could almost entertain my my room form my chair.
It amazing how much more comfortable the chair is
it s hot today we are looking at 80, i thought tit was going to rain , but maybe other parts of town got it but not here well not yet anyway.
and no i have no photo of my chair, it s not that important is it?

Brockoli
Do you like broccoli, I hope someone does.
i was somewhat slow in planting this year , got all my lettuce last weekend I think, but i couldn't find any broccoli, Lowe's , Home depot and Fred's were all out. and I really like broccoli, so i got drastic and bought some seeds on Thursday, and got them planted today. its warm enough and we have had wonderful growing rain. but i have 2 rows of broccoli, from seeds so there will be LOTS of broccoli, stand by when it s time to start giving all this stuff away.
i should also have my first cucumber in about a 1 week.
Also today i just finished running around and mowing the lawn, then my new roommate decided to help and now I will have less weed eating to do , and all the edges are all looking nice. and out the front i can now just mow, YEAH!!

trebuchets
so who knows what a
trebucket is?
well i had this wonderfull idea for building one this summer, they look fairly easy to build according to the web site WWW.trebuchet.com
Then problem is what if I run into problems who do i call for assistence. King Richard 1 build one that was 25 feet hight and could throu things a couple of miles. to destroy the city walls for what ever city you like. Called the attom bomb of the middle ages. but King Richard is not going to help me, they do look so interesting, there is a desk top one , for anoying the guys at work, for a day maybe. or they is the one that is 18 inches high to play with the neighbours , ( do i know them that well.) or to pick on other friends. when am i going to have the time , but dam they look kind a cool.
If I built one would it acutally throw??
The other thought was to buy a model of a ship HMS Victory or one , maybe the Endevour. but they were more expensive .
Any way just some thoughts for the day. it s kinda fun where I waitress there ae a couple of peoole whose actually have a few clues about english history, what a blast...

Charlotte
Sometimes I get to baby sit....
my best friends have a one year old, Charlotte well nearly one , on June 22. She is definitely kinda cute. when i first started baby sitting back in January Charlotte didn't like me, she didn't like being with stranger at all. now she is growing up some. she mostly pretty happy coming to visit, So while the parents were doing stuff with chemicals today i got to bring Charlotte home for a bit. she woke up and just wanted to play, crawled all over the living room, and just had a wonderful time. shes like her Dad Matt, she eats anything , loves bananas.
I too had a thoroughly wonderful time. I am child free, so i just get to play with other peoples baby's. and Charlotte is the one who i get to see most often. My nephews and nieces are such a long way away.
The red dragon who( doesnt have a name)is what Charlote gave me for Valintines day, so it sits on the shelf just waiting for Charlotte to show up and come play.
she really kinda cute.

Garden stuff
One of the things that you are going to here about is my garden. got the greenhouse planted about 2 weeks ago. well maybe 3 and now i have flowers on my tomatoes. last year they took sooo long to flower i swear it was august, so I am kinda excited , and my cucumbers have baby ones already.
this is my tree that i decided is pretty cool, i like to photograph it just to show people just fast stuff grows up her is the spring, the new growth you see is barely 3 weeks worth.
i planted my Peas and beans sunday, 31. and i will have freash peas to eat in 6 weeks on july 16. the lettuce i bought today, that i was going to put in the ground were kinda large so they will be even quicker. No body round town seams to have any brockoli left. heaven help me if i have no brockoli for the summer.
anyway i planted Peas ansd beans Carrotts Artic chard and spring onions, and thought I d try a row of beets.
hopefully i will get a good weekend and a finish geting the lettuce in.
more another time.

Waitressing
I have this second job, waiting tables, just for the summer at the same place I was last year, except that this year i don't know if I am enjoying it as much. I am making more money Lot s more than last year. Maybe I am more tired , I am trying to go on a diet at the same time so I know I am more tired , and i cant go out and socialise like i want to.
in 2 weeks i pulled 12 shifts. At least this week we now have some more staff , so i actually only have 5 nights this week. i have tomorrow off, no i have lots of projects to get done, any volunteered to help plant the last of my garden.
4 places I'd rather be right now,
asleep , asleep and asleep
goodnight.

In the town of Salsbury ( thats england)there is the most amazing catherdal, it sone of my favourites, Built in 60 years flat. yes that is only one generation. there is a fiction book out about it , writen by ken follet, "Pillers of the Earth" I have a tapistry of the photo on the right taht i did about 15 years ago, so had to take a photo whern i actually got to go over there.
i am not overly into going to church, but I can definatly go to catherdal.
catherdals are my friends , you may think ther are too meny of them but as long as i have actually seen them ,thay are like freinds and i would recogise them anywhere. ( in other words i dont get my photos confused)

I've moved
Yahoo is just not what it used to be. i would like to post more than one photo at a time, and Google just seemed to be better than yahoo. I also have a new camera , this could have something to do with the reason I moved as well..
there are a few disclaimers that need to go here. i am not accountable for my spelling, ( yes i know we all have spell check , ) that doesn't mean to say I will get it wright. i spell British, colour has a "U" in it as does Neighbourhood. My punctuation can be even worse. capitals, are just a pain, yes its called holding the key down i know. My teachers nagged me in high school as did my mother , and i haven't changed yet. so don't ask me to. But it s quite ok if you cant understand something its ok to ask.
I live in Alaska. land of the midnight sun. yes it s 12 midnight and its still light don't even know if the sun has set. the longest day is 3 weeks away yet.
I am not sure what I am going to put here, for i am not psychic, but there will be lots of photos.
