I'm skimming some of your past entries and came to these about your visit to NC.
Ironically, my husband and I were also in NC in February! His daughter lives in Cleveland (near Statesville) and we flew to NC to spend some time with her.
We were shocked at the snow along the Blue Ridge Parkway in late February. The weather was worse there than it was here in AK!
